First Photos of Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes in THE FLASH Episode "Null ands Annoyed"
The CW has released a bunch of photos for an upcoming episode of The Flash Season 4 called "Null and Annoyed", and they give us our first look at Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes who are guest starring in the episode as security guards, who conveniently resemble their iconic characters of Jay and Silent Bob. We also see the return of Danny Trejo as Breacher. Smith directed the episode and this is the synopsis that was released:
Barry (Grant Gustin) and Ralph (guest star Hartley Sawyer) take different approaches to finding the remaining bus metas before DeVoe gets to them. However, Ralph’s cavalier attitude frustrates Barry and the two clash over what it means to be a hero. Meanwhile, Breacher (guest star Danny Trejo) returns to ask Cisco (Carlos Valdes) for a favor.
This episode looks like it's going to be a lot of fun. When talking about the episode, Smith said:
"It’s a good, funny episode. People are going to see it and be like ‘You f*cking jumped the shark with this.’ But it’s very funny. There’s some witty shit, and there’s some visual jokes."
Smith went on to reveal how the characters he and Mewes play are different from Jay and Silent Bob:
"We shot a scene, Jason and I, where we play two security guards in The Flash. And it’s not Jay and Silent Bob, but Jason speaks and I don’t. So there you go."
The director then goes on to reveal that he almost didn't do the cameo because he didn't want to wear pants.
"Honestly, I did not want to do it, because I knew it required that I wear pants. Like, there’s only so far in the world that I can take [my usual] outfit, and believe me, I’ve stretched it to its limit. ...But I knew if I was playing a part, where I wasn’t being me, I had to be the security guard. I couldn’t be the security guard in jorts. They probably would cut that. So I knew I’d have to wear an outfit and shit, which included pants. So I was like ‘Oh fuck, I don’t wanna do it.’ But I knew if I said no, I’d never hear the end of it from [Jay]. Cause he’d go ‘We had a chance to be on a f*cking Flash together, and you didn’t f*cking take it!’ So I said ‘Alright, we’ll do it.’ And they suited us up like security guards. And for the first time, I think since my father died, I wore dress pants."
The Flash's "Null and Annoyed" episode will air on April 10th. I included a trailer for you to watch below the photos.
