First Photos of Young Superman in SUPERGIRL and Details on Alan Moore-Inspired Episode

A couple months ago we learned that Supergirl would introduce audiences to a young Superman. Daniel DiMaggio was cast as the young Kal-El, and today we have our first look at him in the series. We also have some plot details to share with you!

The episode is based on Alan Moore’s classic Superman story “For the Man Who Has Everything,” which centers on Kara being trapped in a dream world where Krypton never exploded and her cousin Kal-El never became Superman.

Here’s the official description of the episode:

“Kara’s friends must find a way to save her life when a parasitic alien attaches itself to her and traps her in a dream world where her family is alive and her home planet was never destroyed. Kara’s beloved cousin Kal-El joins her and her parents in domestic Kryptonian bliss, where neither of them needed to escape to Earth, or become superheroes. Also, Alex, Hank and the DEO must fend off a Kryptonian attack while Kara is out of commission.”
Melissa Benoist leads the cast of Supergirl season one as the title character with a cast that also includes Mehcad Brooks as James Olsen, Laura Benanti as Alura Zor-El, Calista Flockhart as Cat Grant, Chyler Leigh as Alexandra “Alex” Danvers, Jeremy Jordan as Winslow “Winn” Schott, Jenna Dewan Tatum as Lucy Lane (sister of Lois), David Harewood as Hank Henshaw, Peter Facinelli as Maxwell Lord, with Dean Cain and Helen Slater.

“For the Girl Who Has Everything” is set to air on Monday, February 8th. You can check out several other photos from the episode below.
