First Possible Look at Namor in BLACK PANTHER: WAKANDA FOREVER Promo Art
We’ve been hearing rumors for years that Marvel’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever would introduce Namor the Sub Mariner to the MCU. Well, some promo art has recently surfaced from the film that offers a possible first look.
The Direct initially shared a blurry promotional image from the film and it has been making the rounds online offering an idea of the MCU's design for the Sub-Mariner. A fan then took the image and took a crack at clearing it up and the design seems to be inspired by the character's classic 1960s appearance.
The character is sporting green swim briefs with a gold belt, along with gold armor on his arms. He’s wearing a green collar on his neck and chest, as well as armor on his legs and ankles where there are ankle wings. Namor also appears to have facial hair.
It’s been rumored that Namor is being played by Narcos actor Tenoch Huerta. Check out the art below:
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is being directed by Ryan Coogler, and the movie will bring back Danai Gurira, Letitia Wright, Daniel Kaluuya, Winston Duke, Lupita Nyong’o, Florence Kasumba, Angela Bassett, and Martin Freeman.
Namor and Atlantis have a long history with Wakanda and T’Challa in the comics and the two kingdoms are known for warring against each other. So, it would make sense to see Namor appear i the movie.
There is a lot that we don’t know about the upcoming Black Panther movie, or how they will handle the Black Panther character without Chadwick Boseman, who tragically passed away. Marvel Studios, Kevin Feige has said they will make Chad proud: “It’s clearly very emotional without Chad. But everyone is also very excited to bring the world of Wakanda back to the public and back to the fans. We’re going to do it in a way that would make Chad proud.”
What do you think about this possible first look at Namor?
The movie is set to be released on November 11th, 2022.
