First Promo Poster For Seth Rogen's New Series THE BOYS with Karl Urban
Amazon Studios has released the first promo poster for Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s upcoming series adaptation of the comic book The Boys. The poster recreates the classic comic book cover with the main characters and it features Karl Urban as Billy Butcher, Jack Quaid as "Wee" Hughie Campbell, Karen Fukuhara as The Female, and Laz Alonzo as Mother's Milk. The Frenchman is also present, but I’m not sure who’s playing him.
The Boys takes places in a world where superheroes embrace the darker side of their massive celebrity and fame, and centers on a group of vigilantes known informally as "the boys" who set out to take down corrupt superheroes with no more than blue-collar grit and a willingness to fight dirty.
Billy Butcher (Urban), who is described as "mysterious and brutal with a personal but secret agenda. He approaches Hughie (Quaid), claiming to be a shadowy government operative. Butcher capitalizes on Hughie's rage over his girlfriend Robin’s accidental death at the hands of Superhero A-Train (Jessie T. Usher) and enlists Hughie as part of his plan to bring down the superhero system."
Supernatural creator Eric Kripke also helped create this series and he will serve as the showrunner. The creators of The Boys comic book, Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, are co-executive producers on the series.
The series will also star Karen Fukuhara, Erin Moriarty, Antony Starr, Dominique McElligott, Chace Crawford and Nathan Mitchell.
Rogen and Goldberg did an awesome job with the Preacher series and I’m excited to see how The Boys turns out!
