First Promo Spot For THE CONNERS - Can ROSEANNE Work Without Roseanne?
The first promo spot has arrived from ABC’s The Conners, which is the series that was created in the wake of Roseanne being cancelled after Roseanne Barr posted some offensive comments on Twitter. As you’ll see, the new series looks and feels exactly like Roseanne, but obviously, without Roseanne, who was killed off in the series. The question is, will this new Roseanne-style series work without Roseanne? Will the core audience tune in? We’ll just have to wait and see, but here’s the synopsis:
After a sudden turn of events, the Conners are forced to face the daily struggles of life in Lanford in a way they never have before. This iconic family – Dan, Jackie, Darlene, Becky and D.J. – grapple with parenthood, dating, an unexpected pregnancy, financial pressures, aging and in-laws in working-class America. Through it all, the fights, the coupon cutting, the hand-me-downs, the breakdowns – with love, humor and perseverance, the family prevails.
The series will see the return of Sara Gilbert, John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf, Alicia Goranson, Michael Fishman and more. The Conners premieres on October 16, 2018.
