First SCARY STORIES TO TELL IN THE DARK Movie Promos Tease "The Big Toe" and "The Jangly Man"
The first two promo spots have been released for producer Guillermo del Toro’s feature film adaptation of the classic horror anthology books, Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark. The first promo teases the classic story “The Big Toe,” and the second one teases “The Jangly Man” story!
The promos are short, but they certainly tease the awesomely creepy vibe that I was hoping to see from the film! I love the style because you can see the inspiration from the original terrifying art.
The movie is being directed by André Øvredal, who is best known for making The Autopsy of Jane Doe and Trollhunters. The trilogy of books that the film is based on was written by Alvin Schwartz.
The cast of the film includes Zoe Colletti, Michael Garza (Wayward Pines), Austin Abrams (Brad’s Status), Gabriel Rush (Moonrise Kingdom), Austin Zajur (Brad’s Status), and Natalie Ganzhorn (Make it Pop).
The film follows a character named Stella (Colletti) who is "a young girl still haunted by her mother’s disappearance on Halloween night — an incident that she suspects her father knows more about than he lets on. Years later, Stella and her friends are involved in a Halloween prank gone wrong. But are they really at fault, or was it the work of a vengeful spirit — a female ghost who uses her scary stories to come after the teens when they begin to investigate the disappearance of several children?"
The story for the film is said to follow "a group of young teens who must solve the mystery surrounding sudden and macabre deaths in their small town."
It was previously revealed that the film features several references to the memorable stories from the book series. A couple of the references mentioned include Harold the scarecrow and the story about a girl with a pimple on her face that ended up being the result of a spider laying eggs in her cheek, "The Red Spot."
The movie comes out in August 2019! Watch the promos and tell us what you think! Do they get you excited!?
