Teaser Trailer for Netflix Film Adaptation of Best-Seller REMARKABLY BRIGHT CREATURES

Netflix has released the first teaser trailer for the adaptation of the best-selling novel Remarkably Bright Creatures, featuring Alfred Molina as the voice of Marcellus the octopus.

He is joined in the cast by Sally Field as Tova, Lewis Pullman, Colm Meaney, Joan Chen, Kathy Baker, Beth Grant, and Sofia Black D’Elia.

The film is directed and co-written by Olivia Newman (Where the Crawdads Sing, The Last Thing He Told Me) from a screenplay she adapted with John Whittington, based the book of the same name by Shelby Van Pelt.

The synopsis reads: “A widow named Tova (Sally Field) who works at a local aquarium finds joy again when she forms an unlikely bond with a Giant Pacific Octopus named Marcellus (voiced by Alfred Molina) and a wayward young man who comes to town in search of family.

“Together, they will uncover a mystery that will lead them to a life-changing discovery and restore their sense of wonder.”

This looks like such a lovely story, and the talent on board is top notch, so I can’t wait to check it out. Watch the trailer below, and catch Remarkably Bright Creatures when it hits Netflix on May 8th.
