First Teaser Trailer Released for DC Universe's DOOM PATROL and Character Posters

DC Universe has released the first teaser trailer for their upcoming series Doom Patrol, and they’ve announced that it will premiere on February 15th. I also included a series of character posters, two of which I posted earlier before this teaser trailer dropped.

The teaser features the group of misfit heroes coming together for a photo, and their personalities are highlighted by what they are thinking in the moment. The characters featured include Matt Bomer as Larry Trainor/Negative Man, Brendan Fraser as Cliff Steele/Robotman, April Bowlby as Elasti-Woman, Diane Guerrero as Crazy Jane, and Joivan Wade as Victor Stone/Cyborg.

A re-imagining of one of DC’s most beloved group of outcast Super Heroes: Robotman, Negative Man, Elasti-Girl and Crazy Jane, led by modern-day mad scientist Dr. Niles Caulder (The Chief). The Doom Patrol's members each suffered horrible accidents that gave them superhuman abilities — but also left them scarred and disfigured. Traumatized and downtrodden, the team found purpose through The Chief, who brought them together to investigate the weirdest phenomena in existence — and to protect Earth from what they find.

Part support group, part Super Hero team, the Doom Patrol is a band of super-powered freaks who fight for a world that wants nothing to do with them. Picking up after the events of Titans, Doom Patrol will find these reluctant heroes in a place they never expected to be, called to action by none other than Cyborg, who comes to them with a mission hard to refuse, but with a warning that is hard to ignore: their lives will never, ever be the same.

I ended up liking how DC’s Titans series turned out, and I’m looking forward to this. This is just a short teaser for Doom Patrol, but it gives you a sense of the tone that the creative team is going for.

Doom Patrol was written by Jeremy Carver who will executive produce it alongside Geoff Johns, Greg Berlanti, and Sarah Schechter

The series received a 13-episode straight-to-series order and will premiere on DC Universe.
