First Trailer for KING OF THE HILL Revival Drops Ahead of Hulu Premiere

The hills of Arlen, Texas are alive again as King of the Hill is officially returning with a new season streaming on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+ starting August 4, and we finally have our first full trailer for the revival.

If you grew up with Hank, Peggy, Bobby, and the gang standing around sipping beers by the fence, you’re about to feel like no time has passed… except, well, a lot of time has passed.

This new season (technically Season 14) takes a nearly decade-long time jump from where the series left off. Hank and Peggy have spent the last few years working a propane job in Saudi Arabia to build their retirement fund.

Now, they're back in Arlen, only to find the town, and their friends, not quite how they left it. As the official synopsis puts it:

“After years working a propane job in Saudi Arabia to earn their retirement nest egg, Hank and Peggy Hill return to a changed Arlen, Texas to reconnect with old friends Dale, Boomhauer and Bill. Meanwhile, Bobby is living his dream as a chef in Dallas and enjoying his 20s with his former classmates Connie, Joseph and Chane.”

The trailer gives us a solid look at the new era of King of the Hill, including a glimpse at Bobby’s adult friend group, Hank’s quiet confusion at a modernized America, and the usual awkward suburban chaos. What’s cool is how much it feels like the show we remember, even with all the change.

The original creators Mike Judge and Greg Daniels are back, with Saladin K. Patterson (The Wonder Years, The Big House) stepping in as showrunner.

The voice cast includes Kathy Najimy, Stephen Root, Pamela Adlon, and Lauren Tom. Even Jonathan Joss (John Redcorn) will be heard in the new season, he recorded lines before his passing.

As for Dale Gribble, Johnny Hardwick, Dale’s original voice actor, also passed away during production, but not before recording for six episodes. For the rest of the season, Dale will be voiced by Toby Huss, who previously voiced Cotton Hill and Kahn.
