First Trailer for Martin Scorsese's Crime Thriller THE IRISHMAN with De Niro, Pacino, and Pesci

Netflix has just dropped the first trailer for Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman, and holy shit! It looks great! I love the crime and mob films that Scorsese has made in his career, and this looks like it’s going to be a perfect addition to his resume. It looks like a classic Scorsese movie!

The Irishman is described as “an epic saga of organized crime in post-war America told through the eyes of World War II veteran Frank Sheeran, a hustler, and hitman who worked alongside some of the most notorious figures of the 20th Century. Spanning decades, the film chronicles one of the greatest unsolved mysteries in American history, the disappearance of legendary union boss Jimmy Hoffa, and offers a monumental journey through the hidden corridors of organized crime: its inner workings, rivalries, and connections to mainstream politics.”

The film has an incredible cast that brings together Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, Joe Pesci, Harvey Keitel, Ray Romano, Anna Paquin, and Bobby Cannavale. Some of the actors have been de-aged for the film as the story spans over decades. We even get a look at some of the de-aging that was done for the film. The best look that we have so far is of a younger De Niro.

The de-aging in the film looks sold, but it doesn’t really matter. What matters is the story that is being told, and The Irishman is going to tell a great, thrilling, and intense story!

The Irishman is based on Charles Brandt’s book, I Heard You Paint Houses: Frank ‘The Irishman’ Sheeran & Closing the Case on Jimmy Hoffa, and there's a lot of controversy surrounding the story as it's based on the deathbed confession of Frank "The Irishman” Sheeran.

The movie also stars Stephen Graham, Stephanie Kurtzuba, Jack Huston, Kathrine Narducci, and Jesse Plemons.

The Irishman premieres at the New York Film Festival and arrives on Netflix and in theaters this fall.
