First Trailer For NANCY DREW AND THE HIDDEN STAIRCASE with IT Star Sophia Lillis
“Every small town has a dark side."
The first trailer has dropped for the upcoming new film Nancy Drew and the Hidden Staircase which stars Sophia Lillis, who played Beverly in the big screen adaptation of Stephen King's IT. She seems like the perfect fit to play this classic character and it looks like a film that my girls will enjoy.
The film focuses on Nancy Drew (Lillis), "a smart high schooler with a penchant for keen observation and deduction, who stumbles upon the haunting of a local home. A bit of an outsider struggling to fit into her new surroundings, Nancy and her pals set out to solve the mystery, make new friends, and establish their place in the community."
The film is being directed by Katt Shea (Poison Ivy) from a script written by Nina Fiore and John Herrera (The Handmaid’s Tale, The Vampire Diaries).
Lillis will be joined by Zoe Renee (The Quad) and Mackenzie Graham (Syfy’s The Purge) as Nancy Drew’s best friends, George and Bess, respectively. Laura Slade Wiggins (Shameless) portrays Helen, a high school mean girl who reluctantly joins forces with Nancy to help solve the mystery. Sam Trammell (True Blood) plays Nancy’s father, Carson, with Linda Lavin (Alice) as Flora, the owner of the haunted house, and Andrea Anders (Joey, The Stepford Wives) starring as Nancy’s Aunt Hannah.
The Hidden Staircase was initially released in 1930 as the second volume in the Nancy Drew series, which was written by Mildred Wirt Benson and published under the pseudonym Carolyn Keene. This will be the second adaptation of the story.
Ellen DeGeneres is producing the film alongside Jeff Kleeman (The Man from U.N.C.L.E.) and Chip Diggins (A Walk in the Woods), and Wendy S. Williams(The Fate of the Furious).
The movie hits theaters on March 15, 2019.
