First Trailer for NBC's New TV Series TAKEN - "Every Hero Has a Beginning"

NBC has released the first trailer for their new action series Taken, which was inspired by the Liam Neeson film franchise. The series changes up a few elements of the franchise that we're familiar with, but it actually looks like it could be a solid series. The biggest issue it has is that Liam Neeson isn't the one kicking ass! Taking his place as Bryan Mills is an actor from Vikings named Clive Standen. I liked him in Vikings, but he just doesn't have the same badass weight that Neeson carries in his performance.

The series is a prequel that offers us a story that takes place before the events of the first film. After saving a train full of people and losing his daughter in the process, Mills is recruited by the CIA where he will fine-tune his particular set of special killing skills. Here's the synopsis:

This new, modern-day, edge-of-your-seat thriller follows the origin story of younger, hungrier, former Green Beret Bryan Mills as he deals with a personal tragedy that shakes his world. As he fights to overcome the incident and exact revenge, Mills is pulled into a career as a deadly CIA operative, a job that awakens his very particular, and very dangerous, set of skills.

Luc Besson is an executive producer on the Taken series, and it's set to premiere on NBC on February 27, 2017. I'm a sucker for these kinds of shows, so I'll give it shot and hope that it's good.

A young Bryan Mills must fight to overcome personal tragedy and exact revenge on those responsible on Taken, premiering Monday, February 27th at 10/9c on NBC.
