First Trailer for Pixar's TURNING RED, Which Was Clearly Inspired by TEEN WOLF
Pixar has released the first trailer for its upcoming film titled Turning Red, which follows a normal teen girl, who ends up transforming into a giant red panda. As you’ll see, the movie has some plot points that were pulled right out of the classic ‘80s film Teen Wolf. From her transformation coming from her family history, to the awkwardness of turning into a beast, to embracing it and loving all the powers that the transformation brings. The movie looks like it’s going to be fun!
Domee Shi (Bao) is making her feature film directorial debut with Turning Red and the cast includes Sandra Oh who voices Ming, and Rosalie Chiang voices Mei Lee. Here’s the synopsis:
Growing up is a beast. Young actress Rosalie Chiang lends her voice in Turning Red to Mei Lee, a 13-year-old who suddenly "poofs" into a giant red panda when she gets too excited (which is practically ALWAYS). Sandra Oh voices Mei Lee's protective, if not slightly overbearing mother, Ming, who is never far from her daughter—an unfortunate reality for the teenager.
Turning Red is set to be released on March 11th, 2022, and I’m sure Pixar is going to deliver another great family adventure film. Enjoy the trailer.
