First Trailer For Roku's Series Adaptation of The Hollywood-Set SWIMMING WITH SHARKS
Roku has released the first trailer for its upcoming series adaptation of the classic 90s film Swimming with Sharks. The series stars Kiernan Shipka (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina) and Diane Kruger.
The show comes from Kathleen Robertson, who serves as creator, writer, and showrunner, and the show “is about the dark side of the Hollywood studio system and an assistant who turns the tables on an abusive boss.”
Shipka plays Lou, a young female assistant, who works for Joyce (Kruger), a sole female studio head, at a company filled with manipulators, schemers and intrigue, but little do they know Lou is poised to outwit them all.
The description of the series also reads: “We're all in the industry, and this entire series is one intense but intriguing situation you just can't look away from. Filled with psychological twists and turns, the series' gripping storylines paired with powerhouse performances will leave audiences on the edge of their seat.”
The series also stars Donald Sutherland, Thomas Dekker, Finn Jones, Erika Alexander, Ross Butler, and Gerardo Celasco.
Swimming with Sharks was directed by Tucker Gates. Chris Cowles, Liz Destro, Stephen Israel, Jay Cohen, and Dana Brunetti served as executive producers. The series was created in partnership with Lionsgate Television.
This Swimming with Sharks looks very different than the film that it’s based on, but I like what I’m seeing and I’m looking forward to watching it. The show is set to debut on The Roku Channel on April 15th.
