First Trailer for SHE'S FUNNY THAT WAY Starring Owen Wilson
Owen Wilson has been relatively quiet over the past few years. He's popped up in projects here and there, but they've mostly been forgettable (The Night at the Museum sequels), solid films in which he has a small role (Inherent Vice, The Grand Budapest Hotel), or just downright awful (The Internship). But he's back in a lead role in She's Funny That Way, an ensemble comedy from legendary filmmaker Peter Bogdanovich (Paper Moon, The Last Picture Show). The film also stars Imogen Poots, Kathryn Hahn, Will Forte, Rhys Ifans, and Jennifer Aniston.
This project has been brewing for years. We have a casting piece about it from two years ago, when it was still called Squirrels to the Nuts, but Bogdanovich has actually been trying to get it off the ground since the late 90s. John Ritter was going to star at one point but he passed away before production began, so the director put it on the back burner. It will finally arrive in theaters on May 1st of this year, and it definitely looks like a throwback comedy that feels very different from the type of stuff you see in the multiplex today.
