First Trailer for SUPERNATURAL Prequel Series THE WINCHESTERS

The CW has released the first trailer for the upcoming Supernatural prequel series The Winchesters. I’m still in the process of watching Supernatural, but fans seem to be incredibly excited about this prequel, which tells the story of how Sam and Dean’s parents, John and Mary, met, and “how they put it all on the line to not only save their love, but the entire world.”

In the series, “Mary is 19 years old and has been fighting the forces of darkness since she was a child. After losing someone close to her, the hardened hunter considers quitting the family business — until her father’s disappearance and the arrival of newcomer John forces her to lead a new team. John has recently returned from Vietnam. Selfless and clear headed, he finds a new mission back home, where traces of his father’s past lead him to a secret organization and a whole new war as a hunter.”

From what I understand, this prequel series is doing some weird things with the story, and isn’t really in line with the original show because John did not even know that Mary was a hunter before she was killed. It’s not until Sam and Dean go back in time that John learns his wife killed demons for a living. But, this is a supernatural series, so I guess anything can happen. Maybe this is an alternate universe? If you’re a fan of the show, you tell me!
