There have been a few actors who’ve made Thomas Crown look effortlessly cool over the years, but the first trailer for The Thomas Crown Affair makes it clear that Michael B. Jordan is bringing his own swagger to the iconic role.

Jordan is pulling double duty on the film, starring as the wealthy thrill-seeking mastermind Thomas Crown while also directing the movie.

Based on what this first trailer delivers, it looks like he’s crafted a slick, sexy crime thriller packed with beautiful locations, sharp fashion, tense cat-and-mouse games, and the kind of confidence that makes this story so much fun.

The original 1968 film from director Norman Jewison starred Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway, while director John McTiernan reinvented it in 1999 with Brosnan and Rene Russo, delivering one of the most stylish heist films of its era, complete with the unforgettable museum sequence set to Nina Simone's "Sinnerman."

The trailer has the polished look you'd hope for from a globe-trotting heist thriller, and the chemistry between Jordan and Arjona already feels like it's going to be one of the movie's biggest strengths.
