First Trailer for Vin Diesel's BLOODSHOT - "Being a Hero Is in His Blood"

Sony Pictures has released the first trailer for Vin Diesel’s feature film adaptation of the comic book Bloodshot. As you might imagine, the trailer is loaded with action, and it offers a fun little taste of what’s in store for the movie.

The movie looks like it could be cool, but Diesel isn’t really sporting the look of the character from the comics. Maybe that’s a reveal that the marketing team is holding off until later? In the film, Diesel takes on the role of a former soldier named Ray Garrison who is given powers of regeneration, technomancy, and metamorphosis, which is made possible through nanites that are injected into his blood after he is killed.

Here’s the synopsis for the movie:

After he and his wife are murdered, Marine Ray Garrison (Vin Diesel) is resurrected by a secret team of scientists. Enhanced with nanotechnology, he becomes a superhuman, biotech killing machine – Bloodshot. As Ray first trains with fellow super-soldiers, he cannot recall anything from his former life. But when his memories flood back and he remembers the man that killed both him and his wife, he breaks out of the facility hellbent on revenge, only to discover that there’s more to the conspiracy than he originally thought

The film is being directed by Dave Wilson, who is Deadpool director Tim Miller's partner at Blur Studios. The film is being written by Eric Heisserer (Arrival). It also stars Toby Kebbell, Michael Sheen, Eiza González, Talulah Riley, Alex Hernandez, and Outlander’s Sam Heughan.

Bloodshot arrives in theaters on February 21, 2020.
