FLASH GORDON is Getting a 4k Collector's Addition! Watch The Trailer!

For those of you who are fans of the awesomely campy sci-fi classic, Flash Gordon, I’ve got some great news for you! The movie is a 4k collectors edition filled with all kinds of cool stuff and special features. We even have a trailer for you to watch that shows off the restored footage in all its glory!

Flash Gordon was based on the comic strip created by Alex Raymond, and the movie was directed by Mike Hodges and starred Sam J. Jones. It also featured and a rockin’ soundtrack from the band Queen. The movie also starred  Melody Anderson, Ornella Muti, Max Von Sydow, Topol, Timothy Dalton, Mariangela Melato and Brian Blessed.

Prepare to save the universe with the King of the Impossible! Alex Raymond's famous comic strip blasts to life in the timeless sci-fi cult adventure Flash Gordon! When energy waves pull the moon out of orbit, New York Jets quarterback Flash Gordon unwittingly finds himself heading for the planet Mongo, where - with assistance from beautiful Dale Arden - he'll take on Ming the Merciless and rescue humankind.

The movie attempted to try and cash in on the popularity of Star Wars, but it didn’t do very well at the box office when it was originally released. It has since become a cult classic.

The 4K restoration of the film will be released in the UK on 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD this summer. I imagine that it could eventually be eleased in the US through a different distributor. The movie will be available on August 3rd in the UK. I’ve included all the special feature information below the trailer.
