Florence Pugh in Talks To Join DUNE: PART TWO as Princess Irulan
Director Denis Villeneuve is pressing forward on the development of Dune: Part Two, and according to a new report, he is looking to cast Black Widow star Florence Pugh in the film. She is currently in negotiations, and if she is cast, she will take on the role of Princess Irulan Corrino, the eldest daughter to Emperor Shaddam Corrino IV.
Pugh is a great young actress, and it’s not hard to imagine her in this role. I think she’ll make a great addition to the cast. If everything works out, she will join returning cast members Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Zendaya and Josh Brolin.
When previously talking about the sequel, Villeneuve teased that this next movie is going to the “main meal.” The director previously shared that Dune: Part One is just “an appetizer for the second part still to come.” I’m excited to this story continue because the second half of the story is a lot more exciting than the first part!
Production on the film is expected to start in the fall, with the film set to hit theaters on October 20, 2023.
