Food Network Renews HARRY POTTER: WIZARDS OF BAKING For a Second Season

Food Network has announced that they have renewed the popular new series Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking for a second season.

The competition series premiered in November and cooked up solid ratings for the Warner Bros. Discovery cable network. It ranked as the number one non-news or sport cable show on Thursday nights for audiences aged 25-54.

We watched a few episodes of this show, and it was pretty incredible. Contestants are brought in who are already incredible bakers, who also have a love of the Harry Potter franchise.

They get to choose one aspect of the books or movies that really stands out to them, like the Whomping Willow, the flying car, or the Quidditch Snitch, and they run with the inspiration of that and create something truly magical.

The series, which is hosted by James and Oliver Phelps, who played Fred and George Weasley in the movies, comes from Warner Horizon and Next In Fashion producer theoldschool. Warner Horizon’s Bridgette Theriault and Dan Sacks served as executive producers with theoldschool’s Robin Ashbrook and Yasmin Shackleton.

Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking features a range of cake creations. Shot at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden, which was where the Harry Potter movies were filmed, the series gives bakers and pastry chefs access to the actual film sets, revisiting locations – including inside The Great Hall at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Platform 9¾, Gringotts Wizarding Bank and The Burrow.

The six-part series also featured special guests Warwick Davis (Professor Flitwick), Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood) and Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley). It also starred Carla Hall and Jozef Youssef as culinary judges.

I think another season of this show is a no-brainer, as there is still so much ground to cover in the creative minds of the baking fans out there. I look forward to seeing what they create.
