Former Jedi Samuel L. Jackson Gives His Thoughts About STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS

Samuel L. Jackson, who played Jedi Master Mace Windu in George Lucas's Star Wars prequels, has seen The Force Awakens, and ABC News asked him his thoughts (via io9):

Apparently Mace Windu himself feels Rey, Finn, and Kylo Ren could benefit from some extra lightsaber lessons. Do you agree?

He seems a little dismissive about it, doesn't he? If he were in the original trilogy and not asked to reprise his role in the new film, maybe I could understand that response. But dude — you were in the prequels. I haven't done any studies on this, but I think it's fair to call those three films some of the most disappointing movies ever made. The lightsaber training school comment is obviously just fun and games for him, but it really doesn't seem like he dug the film very much. To each his own, I guess — I'm not advocating that everyone conform to a consensus opinion (that's boring), but it just strikes me as slightly ironic that someone who was in the prequels seems so blasé about the new movie.
