Former THE WALKING DEAD Actress Teases Rick Grimes Movie Themes

Big fans of The Walking Dead have been anticipating the upcoming movie that will dive into where the former star of the series, Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln), has been since he disappeared in the helicopter that flew him away with that weirdo from the junkyard. At a recent appearance at Fandemic Tour Houston, that junkyard weirdo, Jadis/Anne (Pollyanna McIntosh), spoke out a bit about what we can expect from the spin-off movie.

McIntosh, who is the only other confirmed cast member to join the project besides Lincoln, said the film will explore other worlds as we discover what happened to Rick Grimes after his season 9 escape. While he was near death, and his family and friends were left to believe he did die, Anne’s character arrived with a helicopter flown by an organization with whom she had affiliation. We have since learned that the organization is called CRM, and their three-circle symbol represents “three intertwined civilizations” in the apocalypse.

McIntosh was quoted (via CB), saying:

“We need to know what happened to Rick. There are a lot of other worlds going on. There’s three movies planned, and it would make sense that Jadis-slash-Anne-slash-whatever’s next, would be in the first movie. It’s gonna be a theatrical release, it’s gonna be a big old doo-dah day, which is great.”

The teaser we got for the film at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con showed the Philadelphia skyline, so fans are speculating that this could be a major location in the film. McIntosh also teased that we will hear more about the classification system that was talked about between her character and the CRM over the walkie talkies.

“I just know that everyone wants to know about ‘As’ and ‘Bs,’ and I want to share it with everyone. I want to be able to talk about it.”

Of course, she can’t say much, but it’s exciting to know it’s coming. It has been driving me crazy ever since Rick left the show that no one knows where he is. I can’t wait to see the movie and find all the answers to my questions. Are you excited for the movie?
