Four Different Trailers for AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY Will Be Released in Theaters With AVATAR 3

It has been heavily rumored for the past month or so that we would see the first trailer for Avengers: Doomsday in theaters this month with the release of James Cameron’s sequel Avatar: Fire and Ash.

This seemed like an easy pairing as it’s a film that will bring a lot of moviegoers to theaters, and could push someone on the fence over the edge if they’re a diehard Marvel fan. But it turns out that Disney has even bigger plans than just a first trailer drop.

In a recent report from THR, the outlet revealed: “Sources are telling us the trailer for Avengers: Doomsday will have a unique rollout, one aimed at getting diehards to see Avatar: Fire and Ash multiple times.

“Get this: Disney is sending theaters four different trailers for the Marvel mega-movie — each will play for one week, before switching to the next. So, if you see Fire and Ash opening weekend, you’ll get trailer one. If you go a week later, you’ll get trailer two, and so on. Marvel had no comment on the rollout.”

This is an interesting way to get butts in seats. But honestly, is anyone going to go see Avatar 3 four times? With a runtime of a whopping 3 hours and 15 minutes, and reviewers calling it “unfathomably epic,” but “exhausting,” I think a one-time viewing is sufficient, and we can all just wait until these trailers hit the internet.

What do you think? Will you be heading out to see Fire and Ash four times?
