Four New Photos From PRIDE AND PREJUDICE AND ZOMBIES

Four new photos have surfaced from the feature film adaptation of Seth Grahame-Smith's novel Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. This movie has been in development for years, so it's nice to actually see that production is going well and that progress is being made.

The film is being directed by Burr Steers (Igby Goes Down) and thanks to Entertainment Weekly, we have four new photos to share with you. The story recounts the unlikely romance between Lizzy (Lily James) and Mr. Darcy (Sam Riley), and it's set in the 19th-century English countryside where the zombies aka “sorry stricken," which is what zombies are called in the book, have been roaming for more than 70 years, victims of a mysterious plague.

While talking to EW, the director says:

“The idea was that it was Pride and Prejudice set in this alternate world and then for everyone to play it straight. The movie’s big wink is that there is no big wink.”

James goes on to say that, “It’s definitely not camp. Rather than knitting and crocheting, they’re polishing muskets." When it comes to her character Lizzy, she says, "She’s the most badass zombie slayer there is.”

The movie also stars Ellie Bamber as Lydia, Bella Heathcote as Jane, Millie Brady as Mary, Suki Waterhouse as Kitty, Sam Riley as Mr. Darcy, Jack Huston as Mr. Wickham, Douglas Booth as Mr. Bingley, Matt Smith as Mr. Collins, Lena Headey and Charles Dance. It will be released February 5th, 2016.
