Fox Has Delayed NEW MUTANTS And X-MEN: DARK PHOENIX

Fox has delayed both X-Men: Dark Phoenix and New Mutants and will air them much later than they were originally expected. Deadline reported Dark Phoenix will now be released on February 14, 2019 and The New Mutants will come out August 2, 2019. This is the second delay for New Mutants!

Dark Phoenix's delay by almost a year will allow the film to undergo reshoots and introduce a new character that will hopefully improve the film. The New Mutants getting bumped seems more or less Fox not wanting to release two X-Men films in such close succession to each other, which is a shame because I was definitely looking forward to that one more than I was Dark Phoenix. 

The New Mutants has recently gone through reshoots to add an additional character. When previously talking about those reshoots, Anya Taylor-Joy said:

"I do think that there is a great responsibility to make sure the movie is done right and that we deliver the fans something that they can all feel happy about and excited about. So, I don’t think it being delayed is a bad thing because it’s definitely more important to make sure that we get it right than rushing to make a date. So, hopefully, all of these reshoots and adding of the new character that will give the fans an altogether satisfactory, wonderful product."
