FOX is Developing a 24 Revival Series as a Female-Led Legal Thriller

TV FOX24 by Joey Paur

According to Deadline, FOX is developing a new 24 revival series and this time they are making some big changes. The series will focus on a female lead this time around and the format will be changed from the hero trying to stop a terrorist attack into a legal thriller anthology. That's certainly an interesting direction to go!

I loved the original 24 series with Keifer Sutherland, but the last attempt, 24: Legacy just didn't click with me or anyone else. Afterall, it was canceled. FOX is obviously not interested in giving up on the franchise. As for what the series will be about, this is the description from the report:

The potential new 24 series centers on a female prosecutor who uncovers a legal conspiracy and has to work against the clock to save a death row inmate facing imminent execution whom she had helped prosecute but may be innocent. I hear this is part of an anthological take on 24 that would tackle a new world with new characters each season.

I'd be curious to see how this turns out if FOX actually ends up moving forward with it. I can see the potential, especially since the former writer of The Killing, Jeremy Doner, is developing it alongside producer Brian Grazer

It's such a huge change for the franchise, though, and it makes me wonder if fans of the original will tune in. What do you think? Would you watch a 24 legal thriller series like this?
