FOX Moving Forward with THE MAZE RUNNER Sequel

I don't know if you've seen The Maze Runner yet or not, but it was an awesome flick that was really fun to watch. I was happy to learn that 20th Century Fox is moving forward with a sequel, and the studio even set a release date of September 18th, 2015.

The movie had a very successful box office opening bringing in $81.5 million worldwide. The film was directed by Wes Ball, and he and the rest of the actors did a fantastic job bringing this story to life for the big screen. I'm really happy that we'll get to see the story continue. If you haven't seen the movie yet I strongly suggest you check it out when you get a chance.

The sequel will be based off of the second book in the series by James Dashner called Maze Runner: Scorch Trials. If you're interested in knowing what the sequel holds I've included the description of the book.

Solving the Maze was supposed to be the end.

Thomas was sure that escape from the Maze would mean freedom for him and the Gladers. But WICKED isn’t done yet. Phase Two has just begun. The Scorch.

There are no rules. There is no help. You either make it or you die.

The Gladers have two weeks to cross through the Scorch—the most burned-out section of the world. And WICKED has made sure to adjust the variables and stack the odds against them.

Friendships will be tested. Loyalties will be broken. All bets are off.

There are others now. Their survival depends on the Gladers’ destruction—and they’re determined to survive.
