FOX Renews GOTHAM For Fifth and Final Season

TV GothamFOX by Joey Paur

Hey look! There's a show that FOX didn't cancel! Gotham managed to survive, and the network has officially renewed it for its fifth and final season. When Gotham first launched, the original plan was five seasons that would lead to Bruce Wayne becoming Batman, and they actually made it. The creative team will get to tell the whole story that they set out to tell. As a fan of the show, this makes me happy!

The final season is said to "focus on Bruce Wayne’s transformation into the caped crusader." I've had a fun time watching this series, I've liked the direction that they've taken with it and how they've handled the characters. It'll be interesting to see how they end up bringing it to a close.

The Batman origin series stars David Mazouz as a young Bruce Wayne, Ben McKenzie as Jim Gordon, Donal Logue as Harvey Bullock, Chris Chalk as Lucius Fox, Robin Lord Taylor as Oswald Cobblepot/The Penguin, Cory Michael Smith as Edward Nygma/The Riddler, Morena Baccarin as Dr. Leslie Thompkins, Drew Powell as Butch Gilzean/Solomon Grundy, Alexander Siddig as Ra’s Ah Ghul, Crystal Reed as Sofia Falcone, Camren Bicondova as Selina Kyle, Erin Richards as Barbara Kean, Jessica Lucas as Tabitha Galavan and Sean Pertwee as Alfred Pennyworth. Bruno Heller, Danny Cannon and John Stephens serve as executive producers.

Are you happy to hear that Gotham is getting the opportunity to close out its show with a final season? Or are you still pissed off about Lucifer getting canceled?

Season 5 won't premiere until 2019.
