Frank Grillo Would Love to Develop a CROSSBONES Series With Marvel
Frank Grillo was perfect casting for the role of Brock Rumlow, a.k.a. Crossbones, in the MCU. He’s a great character in that world that I know a lot of fans would have liked to see more of. Grillo would like to see more of him as well, and he would love to see a series that focuses on the character.
Brock Rumlow made his big debut in the MCU in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and then he showed up again in Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Endgame as Crossbones. With several other side characters in the MCU getting their own series, why not the fan-favorite villain Crossbones?!
During a recent interview with Forbes, Grillo said:
“I would love to do that just because I have never seen a character be on the screen so little and yet have such a fan following. I scratch my head with it sometimes. I have a great relationship with Marvel and the guys there, but why didn’t they, even if it wasn’t with me, pursue that? Why isn’t Crossbones somewhere in the mix? I think Crossbones was on screen for something like eight or 12 minutes, and you would think that this character was in 75 different movies the way every day people come up to me all day and talk about Crossbones. I’m taking pictures as if I was Captain America. So, I would do it in a heartbeat.
“I would love for a meeting to help them develop it. That would be great. It’s a great character, but if it does happen, that will probably happen with somebody half my age.”
If Marvel ended up making a Crossbones series with Grillo, I’d definitely watch it! What do you think? Would you like to see Grillo’s Crossbones get a spinoff series of his own? It’s not like there aren’t any great stories to tell with the character. They barely even scratched the surface with Crossbones in the MCU.
