Frank Langella Fired From Netflix's THE FALL OF THE HOUSE OF USHER for Sexual Misconduct
Frank Langella has been fired from director Mike Flanagan’s next Netflix project The Fall of the House of Usher, which is an eight-episode limited series based on the works of Edgar Allan Poe. Langella was playing the lead role of Roderick Usher and that will role will now have to be recast.
Langella was fired for sexual harassment which included making inappropriate comments to a female co-star on set during work. An investigation was conducted and after it was completed they feel that what he did was unacceptable conduct on set.
The project is halfway through production and the scenes that Langella has already filmed will be reshot with a new actor. You’d think that with the current climate of Hollywood, you’d be incredibly careful about what you say and do in the workplace.
The series is described as an epic tale of greed, horror and tragedy. Poe’s short story The Fall of the House of Usher, which serves as the basis for the show, features themes of madness, family, isolation and identity.
The cast for his new series includes Carla Gugino, Mary McDonnell, Carl Lumbly, Mark Hamill, Henry Thomas, Kate Siegel, Zach Gilford, Katie Parker, Annabeth Gish, and more.
