Frank Marshall Looking to Produce New BOURNE Films With New Stories and Creative Teams

Back in 2002, the movie The Bourne Identity hit theaters and began a series of action flicks that rocked the world. The films are based on the book series by Robert Ludlum, and they starred Matt Damon in a story about an amnesiac who is running from assailants while kicking ass and trying to remember the details about his mysterious life.

We got four more films in the franchise, one of them about a different assassin who was played by Jeremy Renner. Each of them was pretty successful, but none as much as the original trilogy. Now, the producer of the films, Frank Marshall, has said he would love to bring the character back to the big screen with new stories and new creative teams to work on the films.

In a recent interview with Collider, Marshall said:

“I do like the Bourne series, and I do think that’s an opportunity for different filmmakers to come in now. So, I’m hoping that we can find a new story for Bourne and a new filmmaker. We are looking.”

I’m in the camp that always votes for more original stories over sequels and remakes. But I guess if there are new stories we haven’t heard yet about Jason Bourne, then they should go for it. He’s an interesting character, and the movies that came before were a lot of fun to watch.

Would you want to see a new Bourne film or two? Who would you like to see direct and star in the film?
