Fred Savage Reprised His PRINCESS BRIDE Role in The PG-13 Version of DEADPOOL 2
20th Century Fox recently announced that they will be releasing a PG-13 version of Deadpool 2 in theaters on December 21, 2018. They are obviously going to try and soak some more money up for the franchise from the younger audiences. Hey, as long as the hardcore fans got their R-rated version, I don’t care what they do with the film.
But, there is an interesting new addition to the film that was shot for the PG-13 version of the film that I’d love to see. That scene involves Fred Savage reprising his role from the classic film The Princess Bride. Ryan Reynolds even shared a photo teasing the scene!
What makes this so funny is that in The Princess Bride, when Peter Falk was reading the story to Savage, he skipped over the scary and the kissing parts that were a little too much for the young Savage, who was sick in bed.
It’s suggested that Deadpool will be reading Deadpool 2 to Fred Savage, and as he reads it, he will be skipping over the R-rated parts of the movie so it ends up being PG-13. If this is the case, it’s brilliant! I love that concept! We’ll just have to wait and see how it plays out.
