Freddie Wong Is Back With a Film Titled WE'RE ALL GOING TO DIE and Here's the Trailer

It’s been a long time since I’ve seen anything new from Freddie Wong and his RocketJump YouTube Channel. Wong used to make some incredibly cool VFX-driven shorts, and after six years, he’s making his big return with a feature film!

Wong and his team are back with the movie We’re All Gonna Die, a self-financed, independently owned movie that will be released exactly 15 years after Real-Life Portal Gun, one of the company’s earliest videos, first hit YouTube.

The film is set in the near future, “a towering alien "spike" materializes in Earth's atmosphere, wreaking havoc. Years later, it's still around.

“A struggling beekeeper is forced to team up with an emotionally raw EMT on a roadtrip to retrieve her bees (and his car) after their stuff is suddenly teleported across the country by the alien spike.”

Wong shared: “We're All Gonna Die comes out the same day as the freddiew video Real Life Portal Gun did, fifteen years later. That video was the second of a batch batch of varied short video experiments that Brandon and I cooked up to try and build an audience as we dedicated ourselves full time to YouTube.

“In short, they were: a reaction video, a visual effects video game comedy video (a format which would go on to yield dividends for us), a visual effects music video (of which we have MysteryGuitarMan to thank), a clickbait-y gamer take (today, an entire flourishing genre), and a spoof/parody (a format that has long been waning).

“I realize that I have been lucky enough for fifteen years to continue doing creative experiments in the world of film. I hope to keep going for another 15 more.”

The movie is set to hit theaters on March 7th! Check the official website for a list of screening locations, with more theaters being added as the release date gets closer.
