Freeform is Entering Animation with Two Shows Produced by Felicia Day and Emma Roberts

Freeform recently announced its plans to have animated shows on their platform. The first two projects will both be comedies called Betches and Woman World.

Betches will be executive produced by Emma Roberts alongside Jordana Abraham, Samantha Fishbein, and Aleen Kuperman. Rachel Koller will write the script and the story is described as “an irreverent series that follows three best friends and roommates as they navigate early adulthood in New York.”

Woman World will be executive produced by Felicia Day and is based on the graphic novel from Aminder Dhaliwal who will be writing the pilot.

It playfully answers the question of what the world would look like if men became extinct and follows a community of women who lean on one another for survival as they search for love and identity in the ladies-only world.

Of the two series, I’m more interested in Woman World. I am genuinely intrigued by the question of what would happen if one sex is completely removed from the equation.

Do either of these series sound interesting to you?
