The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air was a great ‘90s series that told the story of a teenager named Will, played by Will Smith, who got into trouble in his Philadelphia neighborhood, and was sent by his mother to live with his aunt, uncle, and cousins in their Bel-Air mansion. You know the song.

The show lasted six seasons and ended in 1996. All these years later, the show is getting a reboot, with the name shortened to Bel-Air, and has even gotten a two-season order from the NBC streamer, Peacock.

This new version of the show will be a much darker drama, really diving into what it means to be a troubled young black man moving from one coast to another, and living with wealthy relatives during these current tumultuous times.

The show is being directed by Morgan Cooper, based on his 2019 viral video that reimagined the NBC comedy series as a drama. He is co-writing the show, alongside Chris Collins, who will serve as showrunner and executive producer.

Check out the two-season announcement video from Smith below, and I’ll attach the trailer for you to watch as well. I think Bel-Air looks like it could be a pretty great series. Are you interested in this new version of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air?

A year and a half after Morgan Cooper's "Bel-Air" trailer went viral on YouTube, Will delivers an update on the project. ► SUBSCRIBE: https://goo.gl/BUjQW8 W...
