Fruits Basket is one of my favorite animes ever and I am so excited to finally see more about Tohru’s parents. Though she was close with her mother, Tohru’s father died when she was young and she doesn’t know that much about him, so outside of a few details we really don’t know much about him from the series. With Kyo in the cast it will be fun to see the relationship between Kyo and Kyoko from a new perspective.
I’m not sure where they will decide to end the movie, but be prepared for the potential tears if they end it after Katsuya’s death, or even worse after Kyoko’s. Knowing Fruits Basket, there will be many emotional moments before then, so if you’re a crier then bring some tissues. If you are a fan of Fruits Basket you will not want to miss this movie.
You can get a glimpse of the film with two new trailers below, one subbed and one dubbed. Tickets are on sale now.
