Full Trailer For Aaron Sorkin's BEING THE RICARDOS Starring Nicole Kidman as Lucille Ball
We’ve got a new trailer to share with you for Amazon’s upcoming film Being The Ricardos. The film was written and directed by Aaron Sorkin (The West Wing, Molly’s Game, The Trial of The Chicago 7) and it tells the true story of Hollywood icons Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz.
Nicole Kidman takes on the role of Lucille and Javier Bardem plays Desi. In the film, they “are threatened by shocking personal accusations, a political smear and cultural taboos.” The movie also offers a “revealing glimpse of the couple’s complex romantic and professional relationship, the film takes audiences into the writers’ room, onto the soundstage and behind closed doors with Ball and Arnaz during one critical production week of their groundbreaking sitcom I Love Lucy.”
The movie takes place over the course of a week during production of I Love Lucy, which sees Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz encounter a crisis that could jeopardize their careers and marriage.
This trailer offers our best look yet at Kidman as Ball. I’ve been curious about her in the role. Initially, when I first heard she was playing Ball, it was hard to imagine. Could Kidman really capture her soul, energy, and comedic mannerisms? Well, it looks like she might be able to pull it off. Her portrayal Lucille looks better than I expected.
The film also stars Tony Hale, Alia Shawkat, Jake Lacy, Nina Arianda, Clark Gregg, Nelson Franklin, John Rubinstein, Linda Lavin, Robert Pine, Christopher Denham, and J.K. Simmons.
Being the Ricardos opens in theaters December 10, 2021, and on Amazon Prime Video on December 21, 2021. Check out the trailer and tell us what you think.
