Full Trailer For ANGELYNE Tells the Wild Unknown Story of L.A.'s Famous Billboard Model
Peacock has released a full trailer for its upcoming limited series Angelyne, which tells the crazy story of the iconic Los Angeles billboard model. In the ‘80s and ‘90s, Angelyne billboards were all over the place in L.A. I grew up here and my friends, and I even used to see her driving around in her pink Corvette around town. We always wondered what her story was, and now, after all these years, we’re going to find out!
Angelyne describes herself as "a bright pink light, here to inspire joy." There’s only one thing that she’s ever advertised, and that’s herself. Beyond the billboards, and don’t know of anything else she’s done other than showing up in the opening credits of Bruce Willis’ Moonlighting series. There are a few other things that she’s popped up in but nothing really memorable. She’s just famous for being famous. Imagine what it would have been like for her if social media was around when she was marketing herself!
Emmy Rossum takes on the role of Angelyne and the synopsis says the series is about “fame, identity, survival, billboards, Corvettes, lingerie, men, women, women teasing men, men obsessed with women, West Hollywood, crystals, UFOs, and most importantly of all, the self-proclaimed Rorschach test in pink, glow-in-the-dark queen of the universe, Angelyne.”
The series also stars Martin Freeman and Hamish Linklater, and it will premiere on May 19th.
