Wonderful Trailer for George Clooney and Adam Sandler's JAY KELLY

Netflix has released the trailer for Noah Baumbach’s latest film Jay Kelly, a sharp and surprisingly heartfelt story that centers on George Clooney as Jay Kelly, a world-famous movie star making the rounds at a European film festival while quietly wrestling with the weight of his career, legacy, and personal relationships.

At his side is his longtime manager Ron, played by Adam Sandler, who joins him on a trip that turns into a much deeper journey than either of them expected.

I really enjoy the stories Baumbach tells with the films he makes. There’s something about many of them that I can relate to.

The official synopsis sets the stage: “Jay Kelly, the new film from Academy Award nominee Noah Baumbach, follows famous movie actor Jay Kelly and his devoted manager Ron as they embark on a whirlwind and unexpectedly profound journey through Europe.

“Along the way, both are forced to confront the choices they've made, the relationships with their loved ones, and the legacies they'll leave behind...”

The trailer teases a film that is both meta and personal, with Clooney’s character grappling with fame, solitude, and meaning.

Joining Clooney and Sandler is an impressive ensemble that includes Laura Dern, Billy Crudup, Riley Keough, Grace Edwards, Stacy Keach, Jim Broadbent, Patrick Wilson, Greta Gerwig, Eve Hewson, Alba Rohrwacher, Josh Hamilton, Lenny Henry, and Emily Mortimer.

Baumbach co-wrote the screenplay with Mortimer, while producing duties were handled by David Heyman, Amy Pascal, and Baumbach himself. This marks his return after Marriage Story and White Noise, continuing his streak of crafting deeply human stories with an offbeat edge.

Jay Kelly hits select US theaters on November 14, 2025, before landing on Netflix December 5. Early reactions describe it as an endearing and thoughtful tale about life, fame, and finding meaning.
