Full Trailer for Netflix's FAST & FURIOUS: SPY RACERS Animated Series - There's a New Toretto in Town
Netflix has released the first trailer for the upcoming animated series Fast & Furious: Spy Racers, and it revolves around Dom Toretto’s annoying and juvenile cousin Tony and his friends. The logline for the series reads, “There's a new Toretto in town and he's ready to ride!”
The story follows Tony and his friends as they are recruited by a government agency to infiltrate an elite racing league serving as a front for a nefarious crime organization called SH1FT3R bent on world domination. The Spy Racers will try to live up to the Fast family legacy with more high octane racing action and incredible covert operations.
This is definitely a show for the kids. As a long-time fan of the Fast & Furious franchise, I have no interest in watching this. This trailer just didn’t do anything for me, and it looks like a silly series.
Tony will be voiced by Tyler Posey (Teen Wolf) and the rest of the cast includes Camille Ramsey (American Vandal) as Layla Gray, a notable underground racer who works for SH1FT3R; Luke Youngblood (Harry Potter) as Frostee Benson, a 13-year old tech genius; Charlet Chung (Overwatch) as Echo, a wildly talented artist and natural spy; and Jorge Diaz (Jane the Virgin) plays Cisco Renaldo, both the muscle and the sweetheart of the crew.
The co-stars in the series are Vin Diesel’s daughter Similce Diesel as Frostee’s younger sister Sissy; Manish Dayal (The Resident) as Shashi Dhar, the leader of the criminal organization SH1FT3R; American Vandal season one standout Jimmy Tatro as a local knucklehead named Mitch; and Renée Elise Goldsberry (Hamilton), who plays the team’s secret agent liaison Ms. Nowhere.
Other characters will be voiced by Carlos Alazraqui (The Fairly OddParents), Eric Bauza (The Adventures of Puss in Boots), Grey Griffin (DC Super Hero Girls), Kevin Michael Richardson (Trolls: The Beat Goes On!), Fred Tatasciore (Trollhunters: Tales of Arcadia), and Tru Valentino (Archibald’s Next Big Thing).
Tim Hedrick (DreamWorks Voltron Legendary Defender) and Bret Haaland (DreamWorks All Hail King Julien) are the series showrunners, and they are also executive producing alongside Vin Diesel, Chris Morgan, and Neal Moritz, who have all been involved with developing the film franchise.
The series will be released on December 26th. Check out the trailer and let us know if you’ll be tuning in to watch it.
