Full Trailer for New Season of Ryan Murphy's Netflix Anthology Series MONSTERS: THE LYLE AND ERIK MENENDEZ STORY

Netflix has released the full trailer for the next season of Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan’s Monster anthology series, titled Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story.

This season follows the chilling story of Lyle and Erik Menendez, two brothers who fatally shot their parents in their Beverly Hills home in 1989. At the trials, the brothers cited years of abuse as the reason for murdering their parents. However, prosecutors argued their motive was to get their hands on the family fortune.

Javier Bardem and Chloë Sevigny star as their parents, Jose and Kitty Menendez, with newcomers Nicholas Alexander Chavez and Cooper Koch portraying brothers Lyle and Erik. Nathan Lane plays the journalist who closely covered the story, Dominick Dunne.

The synopsis reads: “Following the massive success of Dahmer, Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan’s true-crime anthology series returns with Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story, chronicling the case of the real-life brothers who were convicted in 1996 for the murders of their parents, José and Mary Louise “Kitty” Menendez.

“While the prosecution argued they were seeking to inherit their family fortune, the brothers claimed - and remain adamant to this day, as they serve life sentences without the possibility of parole - their actions stemmed out of fear from a lifetime of physical, emotional, sexual abuse at the hands of their parents.

Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story dives into the historic case that took the world by storm, paved the way for audiences’ modern-day fascination with true crime, and in return asks those audiences: Who are the real monsters?”

This season hits Netflix on September 19th. Check out the trailer below:
