A Teenage Badass Will Bring the Pain in Trailer for the New Thriller BECKY with Lulu Wilson, Kevin James, and Joel McHale
We’ve got the first full trailer for you guys to enjoy for the upcoming thriller Becky. The film stars Lulu Wilson (The Haunting of Hill House) in the title role, Joel McHale (Community) as her father, Kevin James (The King of Queens, Paul Blart: Mall Cop) as the film’s villain, and Amanda Brugel (The Handmaid’s Tale). The film is directed by Cary Murnion and Jonathan Milott (Cooties, Bushwick) from a script by Nick Morris, Lane Skye, and Ruckus Skye.
Here’s the synopsis:
In the film, spunky and rebellious Becky (Wilson) is brought to a weekend getaway at a lake house by her father Jeff (McHale) in an effort to try to reconnect. The trip immediately takes a turn for the worse when a group of convicts on the run, led by the merciless Dominick (James), suddenly invade the lake house.
I was pretty dubious of the description of this movie, with James playing a menacing convict, but the trailer for the film actually looks pretty good. The beard helps him to look a little scarier than the Doug Heffernan/Paul Blart type character we are used to. And I like that the film focuses a lot on Becky, the unexpected teen badass who looks like she will be bringing the pain, rated-R Home Alone-style.
