Fun 1982 Video of Leonard Nimoy Asking Fan if They Think Spock Really Died in STAR TREK II: THE WRATH OF KHAN
Here’s a great video from 1982 that features Leonard Nimoy standing outside a movie theater asking moviegoers who've just seen Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan if they think Spock really died at the end of the movie.
As you’ll see, not all of the fans believed that Spock was really dead and that he would eventually return, which he did! The fans just couldn’t believe he could be gone for good.
Some even guessed he’d be “reborn” thanks to the Genesis planet’s life-giving powers, while others speculated about his return in a later film.
As you know, Spock did end up returning in Star Trek III: The Search for Spock thanks to the Genesis Planet and the reunion of his soul with his body.
Enjoy the video!
Best thing you'll see today: Leonard Nimoy, born on this day in 1931, outside a theater asking moviegoers who've just seen Star Trek II if they think Spock really died at the end of the movie. Happy Birthday, Captain! 🖖 #LLAP pic.twitter.com/FdeTO4OUqo
