Fun and Fresh Trailer for Reimagining of Jane Austen's Classic Comedy EMMA Starring Anya Taylor-Joy

We’ve got a trailer for you to check out for the latest retelling of the classic novel Emma by Jane Austen, which was previously made into a movie starring Gwyneth Paltrow and was also the story that Clueless was based on. Anya Taylor-Joy (Glass) stars in the title role and is accompanied by Gemma Whelan (Game of Thrones), Josh O’Connor (The Crown), Bill Nighy (Love Actually, About Time), Mia Goth (Suspiria), and Callum Turner (Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald).

Jane Austen’s beloved comedy about finding your equal and earning your happy ending, is reimagined in this delicious new film adaptation of EMMA. Handsome, clever, and rich, Emma Woodhouse is a restless queen bee without rivals in her sleepy little town. In this glittering satire of social class and the pain of growing up, Emma must adventure through misguided matches and romantic missteps to find the love that has been there all along.

This version is directed by Autumn de Wilde in her feature film debut. Before this, she wrote and directed a short called The Postman Dreams and worked on many music videos for musician Beck.

Taylor-Joy looks smart and funny in the role, and I think the cast is a great match. Check out the trailer below, and see Emma in theaters on February 21, 2020.
