Fun Behind the Scenes Featurette for Star-Studded Whodunnit Comedy THE SHEEP DETECTIVES

A fun featurette has been released for the movie The Sheep Detectives, which dives behind the scenes of the film, with star Hugh Jackman talking about lobbying for the role of the shepherd, and gives us a look at the incredible voice cast ensemble.

Jackman is joined in the film by Nicholas Braun, Nicholas Galitzine, Molly Gordon, Hong Chau, Emma Thompson, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Bryan Cranston, Chris O'Dowd, Regina Hall, Patrick Stewart, Bella Ramsey, and Rhys Darby.

The movie is directed by Kyle Balda (The Lorax, Minions, Despicable Me 3, Minions: The Rise of Gru), from a screenplay written by Craig Mazin based on the book Three Bags Full from Leonie Swann.

The synopsis reads: “It's a herder mystery, and everyone is a suspect. In this witty, new breed of mystery in theaters next May, George (Hugh Jackman) is a shepherd who reads detective novels to his beloved sheep every single night, assuming they can’t possibly understand.

“But when a mysterious incident disrupts life on the farm, the sheep realize they must become the detectives. As they follow the clues and investigate human suspects, they prove that even sheep can be brilliant crime-solvers.”

I have been excited to see this movie since its first trailer. It looks like something my whole family will enjoy, and I can’t wait to check it out.

Watch the new featurette below, and catch The Sheep Detectives in theaters on May 8, 2026.
