Fun DC Comics Parody Batman: Hoarder Skewers Bruce Wayne’s Trophy Problem

Batman: Hoarder is a hilarious vintage-style parody that perfectly taps into everything fans love about Batman while poking fun at the Dark Knight’s tendency to never throw anything away, and artist Kerry Callen absolutely nails the joke.

The strip drops us into a therapy session where Bruce Wayne is gently encouraged to part with just one item in the Batcave, only for things to spiral into a showcase of emotional attachments, absurd logic, and deep-cut Bat-history references that longtime fans will appreciate.

Callen’s retro art style feels ripped straight out of classic DC pages, which makes the punchlines land even harder, especially when Batman’s “trophies” start piling up and the giant penny enters the conversation.

I’m a big fan of Callen’s work in general, and he really pumps out some great stuff with these vintage-style parody comics that feel lovingly accurate and delightfully unhinged.

The strip even comes with a note: “Btw, the objects on the bottom of page 1 are all from actual Batman stories; Detective Comics #244, Detective Comics #235, Detective Comics #241, respectively. (Disrespectively?).”
