Fun New Horror-Themed Looney Tunes Cartoon Debuts Titled "Postalgeist"

In case you didn’t know, the Looney Tunes are making a big comeback on HBO Max with new episodes featuring our favorite characters such as Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Elmer Fudd, Porky Pig, Sylvester the Cat, Tweety Bird, Wile E. Coyote, The Road Runner, and more.

The team behind the new cartoons had a virtual panel for Comic-Con@Home to talk about the series and bringing the Looney Tunes’ legacy to whole new generation. During that panel they also premiered an all new episode!

The episode is a horror-themed story titled "Postalgeist", and it features Daffy Duck and Porky Pig as delivery drivers who are determined to deliver a package on a stormy night to room 237 which is located on 13th floor of a haunted hotel called The Terror Inn.

When talking about the legacy of of the Looney Tunes and carrying on the tradition and what they were looking to do with the updated version of the series and how they were inspired by the classic 1940s animated shorts. Supervising producer Alex Kirwan said:

“That was our favorite period and era of the shorts. We just wanted more of that. What we kept saying is that we didn’t want to set out to reinvent it, and we didn’t want to set out to put new sensibilities on it. We knew we’re a group of artists and our own sensibilities would come through, and they had to come through with the artists that we work with, because that’s what the classic directors were doing; they were putting in things they thought were funny. But we were gonna let that happen naturally. We weren’t gonna start with, ‘Here’s a clever new take on what these characters and these shorts could be.’ What we love about the shorts is that they’re wonderful slapstick humor. We just want to get back to building really great slapstick shorts, which is what the original ones were, and be true to the character pairings and the way they built comedy dynamics.”
