“Space is hard.” That’s the motto of the new space branch of the military in the upcoming Netflix comedy series Space Force. The streaming service has released a new trailer for the show, and it’s sure to provide us with some fun humor and good laughs.

The creator of The Office, Greg Daniels, created the series, and he brought his old pal Steve Carrell along for the ride. The series is based on President Trump’s idea in which Space Force will “defend America’s vital interests in space, the next warfighting domain, and I think that’s pretty obvious to everybody. It’s all about space.”

The series is described as a workplace comedy that centers around the group of people who must develop the Space Force military branch and Carrell’s character, General Mark R. Naird, is leading the charge on it. He is joined in the series by John Malkovich stars as Dr. Adrian Mallory, Lisa Kudrow (Friends), Diana Silvers (Booksmart, Ma) as Erin Naird, Ben Schwartz (Parks and Recreation) as F. Tony Scarapiducci, Jimmy O. Yang (Crazy Rich Asians) as Dr. Chan Kaifang, Tawny Newsome as Angela Ali, and Alex Sparrow as Bobby Telatovich.

A decorated pilot with dreams of running the Air Force, four-star general Mark R. Naird (Steve Carell) is thrown for a loop when he finds himself tapped to lead the newly formed sixth branch of the US Armed Forces: Space Force. Skeptical but dedicated, Mark uproots his family and moves to a remote base in Colorado where he and a colorful team of scientists and “Spacemen” are tasked by the White House with getting American boots on the moon (again) in a hurry and achieving total space dominance. From co-creators Carell and Greg Daniels (The Office), SPACE FORCE is a new kind of workplace comedy, where the stakes are sky high and the ambitions even higher. John Malkovich, Diana Silvers, Tawny Newsome, Ben Schwartz also star, alongside co-stars Lisa Kudrow, Jimmy O. Yang, Noah Emmerich, Alex Sparrow and Don Lake. Howard Klein/3Arts (The Office) serves as executive producer, with Daniels as showrunner.

Space Force will premiere later this month on May 29th, and it’s sure to deliver some great entertainment. I’ve also included some character posters.
