Fun Photo of Willem Dafoe as Green Goblin in SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME
A new photo from Marvel’s Spider-Man: No Way Home has surfaced, and it offers a new close-up look at Willem Dafoe back in the role of Green Goblin, and I just love that goofy-ass grin he’s got plastered on his face!
This is from a new clip that was shared during Brazil's CCXP convention over the weekend, and as you can see, the villain is sporting a new look with a ragged hood and cloak that he’s wearing over his costume.
No Way Home star Tom Holland previously talked about meeting Dafoe for the first time saying, "It was actually a funny story of when I met Willem for the first time. Obviously at that time all of the villains in the film it was a huge secret that they were in the film. So they would walk around set with these cloaks on and naturally you know these guys were very excited to be coming back and bringing these roles back to life that they came to set a week before they started shooting to just see what it was like. Meet Jon (Watts, director), meet myself, hang out on set and have a good time. I just sort of bumped into this guy in a cloak. I was like, 'Watch out mate.' And he took his hood off and I almost got really scared. 'Oh shit, the Goblin is here.' He was lovely, he was really wonderful. A real joy to work with."
In the movie, “for the first time in the cinematic history of Spider-Man, our friendly neighborhood hero's identity is revealed, bringing his Super Hero responsibilities into conflict with his normal life and putting those he cares about most at risk. When he enlists Doctor Strange’s help to restore his secret, the spell tears a hole in their world, releasing the most powerful villains who’ve ever fought a Spider-Man in any universe. Now, Peter will have to overcome his greatest challenge yet, which will not only forever alter his own future but the future of the Multiverse.”
The movie also stars Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange, Alfred Molina as Doc Ock, and Jamie Foxx as Electro. Other villains set to appear include Sandman and Lizard, we just don’t know what actors are playing those roles. Other cast members include Zendaya as MJ, Jacob Batalon as Ned, Marisa Tomei as Aunt May, Tony Revolori as Flash, and Hannibal Buress as Coach Wilson.
The Jon Watts-directed film is to to be released in theaters on December 17, 2021.
